the great strengths of the Church on the Cape is its exceptional music
and every week people are uplifted and spiritually filled by the amazing
talents of our Organist and Music Director, our Senior Choir and the
individual musicians who
join us to share their God-given gifts.
Our concert offerings are increasingly
appreciated by a wide audience of neighbors and visitors.
These musical activities on behalf of the community require regular funding
in order to attract quality musicians.
There are publicity costs, honorariums to the principal performers as well
as travel along with room and board expenses. The plate offerings cover a small
portion of these outlays.
This tax deductible independent music foundation at the Church on the Cape
has been established in accordance with laws of the State of Maine and the
UMC New England Conference.
We have set a goal of creating a $200,000 perpetual endowment. To that end,
we have a $100,000 challenge
grant from a generous couple in our church. That leaves $100,000 to be
raised through donations and concerts. Currently, we have raised $85,,000
with slightly less than $15,000 remaining. A professional investment firm is handling the fundís investments.
Once our income is sufficient, a certain percentage of each yearís growth
will be allocated to these musical events, as decided by the foundationís
Your participation in the foundation will assure the continuation of this
major musical commitment as we build together a musical cathedral in the
hearts of our members, friends and visitors. Please consider
